Lisa Boyter
Born In Scotland, Boyter began potting in 1970 in Edinburgh. She emigrated to Australia in 1972 and settled first in WA before moving to Tasmania where she studied ceramics at the University of Tasmania. Over the last 30 years her work has changed from large hand built pieces to the fine porcelain bowls and vases she is producing today. Of her latest work she says "I use porcelain for its qualities of strength, translucency and purity. It is a medium that demands a high degree of technical skill and concentration, however in this work I introduce randomness and spontaneity. These pieces are an exploration of the relationship between light and matter, interior and exterior, simplicity and chaos." Boyter's black & white bowl and black & white beakers are available to purchase online.
