Davies has had a long career in ceramics as a practising artist, teacher and studio consultant. He has had many exhibitions in Australia and also in the USA, the UK and Holland where he has also conducted workshops and undertaken numerous residencies. He is also a regular contributor to Australian and international art and ceramic magazines including 'Craft Arts', 'Pottery in Australia', 'Ceramics Monthly' and 'Ceramics, Art and Perception'.
Davies was born and brought up in a small fishing village in Wales, and marine life has been a constant motif used on his ceramic works. Latterly his work has become more sculptural. Davies' most recent exhibition at Artisan Gallery, "Coastal Pastoral" was described by the artist as "an ongoing commitment to themes that celebrate seaboard life."
