McDonald-Davies first studied ceramic sculpture in Melbourne in the 1980s. She went on to study at the University of Tasmania and in 1996 won the Trust Bank award for ceramic sculpture in Launceston, Tasmania.
McDonald-Davies' whimsical table-top sculptures are manifestations of her observations of human expression and character. They are hand built from slabs of clay, then painted with ceramic oxides and stains. These delightful, intriguing and thought-provoking pieces stimulate conversation.
